- Vietnam attaches importance to relations withthe US and wants to continue developing the ties for the benefit of theirpeople, and for peace, friendship, cooperation, and development in the regionand the world, Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for ForeignAffairs Le Hoai Trung has said.

– A delegation of the Communist Party ofVietnam (CPV) paid a working visit to Brazil from June 29 – July 2 and attendedthe 26th Sao Paulo Forum themed “Regional integration to advance Latin Americanand Caribbean sovereignty" in Brasilia capital city of Brazil.
Addressing the forum’s plenary session, thedelegation's head Le Hong Quang, who is a member of the CPV Central Committeeand Secretary of the Party Committee of the Mekong Delta province of An Giang,thanked communist parties, left-wing and workers' parties, and progressiveforces for their valuable support for Vietnam during its struggles for nationalindependence and reunification in the past, as well as in the cause of nationalconstruction and defence at present.Read full text

– Vietnam’s increasing middle-power status inthe Asia-Pacific region has sparked interest on its successful foreigndiplomacy, which is known as “bamboo diplomacy”, said Layton Pike, Co-founderof the Australia Vietnam Policy Institute (AVPI).

- Vietnam can return to high growth rates overthe medium term, as structural reforms are implemented, Division Chief of theInternational Monetary Fund (IMF)’s Fiscal Affairs Department Paulo Medas hassaid.

- Vietnam’s new visa policy may help thecountry welcome 12 million foreign tourists this year, far surpassing thetarget of 8 million set previously, said Hoang Nhan Chinh, Secretariat Directorof the Vietnam Tourism Advisory Board (TAB).
On June 24, the Vietnamese National Assemblyapproved the Law on amendments and supplements to a number of articles of theLaw on the Exit and Entry of Vietnamese Citizens, as well as the Law onForeigners’ Entry into, Exit from, Transit through, and Residence in Vietnam.Read full text

– Several measures have been recommended tohelp Vietnamese exporters cope with dwindling demand in many markets around theworld.
In the first half of 2022, countries took boldsteps to resume economic and tourism activities after the COVID-19 pandemic wascontrolled, leading to a surge in consumption demand. National Assembly Standing Committee to look into 25 draft laws, resolutions

The committee will take up 25 draft laws and resolutions, including the revised Penal Code, the revised Law on Organisation of Criminal Investigation Agencies, and the review of the draft law amending Article 6 and Appendix IV on conditional business sectors and lines under the Law on Investment, among others.

Party General Secretary, President To Lam concludes state visit to New Zealand

At the meetings during the visit, the two sides agreed to further strengthen political trust and advance bilateral relations comprehensively by stepping up high-level and all-level exchanges through Party, State, parliamentary and people-to-people channels, thereby making more effective use of existing policy dialogue mechanisms.
