Hanoi (VNA) - The following is a brief review of the day’s events as reported by the Vietnam News Agency.
– The Party, since taking up the leadership of the revolution in Vietnam, has followed a consistent policy on ensuring the freedom of belief and religion, strengthening the national solidarity bloc and uniting followers of all religions as well as secular people in the national construction and safeguarding process.
– Minister-Chairman of the Government Committee on Ethnic Minority Affairs Hau A Lenh clarified issues related to the attraction of investment in ethnic minority-inhabited areas at the ongoing 15th National Assembly (NA) during the fifth plenary session on June 7.
Answering the question by Hanoi representative Vu Thi Luu Mai on a number of documents that do not match the regulations of the law, Lenh admitted that there are still conflicts and overlapping in documents guiding the implementation of policies to encourage investment in ethnic minority-inhabited areas. - The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has been and will continue to be one of the most important and trusted partners of the Government and people of Vietnam on the country’s development and integration pathway, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang has affirmed.
– Over 200 documents and objects reflecting patriotic emulation movements will be exhibited at the Vietnam National Museum of History from June 9 to August 9 as a practical activity to celebrate 75 years since President Ho Chi Minh issued an appeal for patriotic emulation (June 11, 1948 - 2023).
The patriotic emulation movements have significantly contributed to the great victories of the Vietnamese revolution over the past seven decades. Read full text
– Vietnam is a popular tourist destination for Japanese holiday-makers as it attracts approximately 1 million arrivals from the Asian nation each year, according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).

– Winners of the ‘Green Journey for A Green Future’ competition were awarded at a ceremony held in Hanoi on June 6 by the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Vietnam and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Hanoi's Tay Ho district.
The online completion was jointly organised by the Embassy of Saudi Arabia and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Hanoi's Tay Ho district with the aim of honouring environmentally-friendly lifestyles as well as initiatives and ideas to protect the environment. Read full text
– Vietnam and Brazil hold great potential for further development as members of the Southern Common Market (Mercosur), including Brazil, are eager to enhance economic, commercial and investment cooperation with Vietnam, said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ha Kim Ngoc.
In a Hanoi reception on June 6 for his Brazilian counterpart Eduardo Paes Saboia, Ngoc expressed his delight at Brazil continuing to be Vietnam's largest trade partner in the Latin America, with two-way trade reaching 6.78 billion USD in 2022. Read full text/.
