- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held separate meetings with leaders from Spain, Paraguay, Canada, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Vatican, and the World Health Organisation (WHO) on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Brazil, on November 19 (local time).
The Vietnamese government leader respectfully conveyed the regards from Party General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to the leaders. He extended Lam’s and Cuuong’s invitations to the leaders to visit Vietnam. Read full story
- Minister of National Defence Phan Van Giang met with leaders of Laos in Vientiane on November 19 on the occasion of attending the 18th ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting (ADMM) and the 11th ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus).
Making a courtesy call on General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, Minister Giang congratulated Laos on the success of its ASEAN chairmanship in 2024 with many important meetings. - General Director of the Vietnam News Agency Vu Viet Trang and General Director of the Lao News Agency (KPL) Vannasin Simmavong signed a memorandum of understanding on bilateral cooperation for the upcoming period, following their talks in Vientiane on November 20.
At their talks, Trang, who is on a working visit to Laos from November 19-21, congratulated KPL on successfully fulfilling its mission of providing media coverage of Laos' 2024 ASEAN Chairmanship Year, thereby contributing to - enhancing the country’s image and role in the region. Read full story
- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son on November 20 received World Bank (WB) Vice President for East Asia and the Pacific Manuela V. Ferro who is paying a working visit to Vietnam.
During the reception, Son hailed the WB's decision to establish a regional office in Hanoi and shared his desire to work closely with the office, noting the WB is a reliable partner that has significantly supported Vietnam's socioeconomic development. Read full story
