- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had meetings with leaders of countries and international organisations on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on November 19.
The PM took the occasions to affirm Vietnam’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation and developing the relations with foreign countries and international organisations in a deeper and more substantive fashion. Read full story
– Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on November 18 issued an official dispatch, ordering faster and stronger efforts to do away with temporary and dilapidated houses across the nation.
He asked ministries, sectors and localities to drastically and harmoniously carry out the PM’s relevant directives and conclusions so as to provide standard houses for the people, particularly those who rendered services to the nation, impoverished households and natural disaster-hit families. - Nearly 200 exhibitors from 27 countries across the globe, including major powerhouses like China, France, Japan, the Republic of Korea, will attend the second Vietnam International Defence Expo slated for mid-December, heard a press conference in Hanoi on November 19.
The event, held by the Ministry of National Defence from December 19-22, is part of activities to celebrate the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and the 35th anniversary of the All-people’s National Defence Day.to the NA for approval. Read full story
- A delegation of the Armenian National Assembly (NA) led by its President Alen Simonyan paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum in Hanoi on November 19 as part of their official visit to Vietnam.
The delegation then visited the special national relic Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature) where they explored the history and development of the first university in Vietnam. Read full story
- Vietnam earned 6.4 billion USD from exports to the UK in the first 10 months of this year, marking a year-on-year rise of 22%, reported the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
In October alone, the country’s export turnover to the UK hit 687.2 million USD, up more than 13% from the previous month. Read full story
– A workshop was held in Tokyo on November 18 to introduce to Japanese businesses investment trends in Vietnam and its pioneering industrial parks with carbon neutral initiatives.
The event was jointly organised by the ASEAN Japan Centre (AJC), the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), Vietnam’s Viglacera Group, and Mizuho Bank with the aim of further attracting Japanese green investment to Vietnam. Read full story
– Vietnam and China on November 17 opened two temporary cross-border corridors to facilitate travel, trade and people-to-people exchanges.
