The second Vietnamese martial arts championship in Algeria kicked off at Loucif Hamani Gymnasium in Tizi-Ouzou city on December 23.

Algiers (VNA) – The second Vietnamese martialarts championship in Algeria kicked off at Loucif Hamani Gymnasium in Tizi-Ouzoucity on December 23.

The Algeria Federation of Vietnamese Martial Arts said the eventattracted hundreds of competitors from 16 provinces and cities across theAfrican country to select the best for coming international tournaments.

Speakingat the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria Nguyen Thanh Vinhwelcomed the tourney and described it as a contributor to the friendshipbetween the two countries' people.

He stressed that the practice of traditionalmartial arts of Vietnam in Algeria is a bright spot in bilateral relations,calling on the two countries to continue promoting cultural and sport exchanges.

For his part, President of the Algeria Federation of VietnameseMartial Arts Rabie Ait Medjber noted the two countries’ long-standing multifacetedties. He also appreciated Ambassador Vinh’s presence at the event./.

Top 10 finalists for 7th De Men Awards for Children 2026 announced

Founded and organised annually since 2020 by the Vietnam News Agency’s The thao và Van hoa (Sports & Culture) newspaper, the De Men (Cricket) Awards for Children honour outstanding artistic and literary works either “by children” or “for children.” The awards include a grand prize called the Cricket Knight Award, and several Cricket Desire Awards of equal standing.
