Ambassador: Japan values ties with Vietnam

Hanoi (VNA) – The Japanese Government wants to enhance its relationship with Vietnam towards a more practical way, said newly-appointed Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Umeda Kunio.

The ambassador made the statement when meeting with Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission, in Hanoi on November 15.

He pledged to do his best to contribute to the development of bilateral relations and work with relevant agencies of Vietnam to well organise high-level visits and promote cooperation in all spheres, including personnel training.

Chinh took note of the outcomes of cooperation in trade, investment and other fields.

He thanked the Japanese Government for its official development assistance to Vietnam and expected that the two countries will continue to enhance political trust and expand cooperation in all spheres, particularly in human resource development.-VNA
