England Premier league football club Arsenal will bring all its major stars to Vietnam for their friendly with the national team later this month.
Arsenal’s match in Hanoi on July 17 is part of the club’s tour of Asia that has two other destinations, Japan and Indonesia.
According to the squad list sent to the organisers, all stars who are playing for Arsenal in the Premier League, including their famous manager, Frenchman Arsene Wenger will be present in Vietnam.
The provisional list has all team’s first choice names including Aaron Ramsey, Oliver Giroud, Laurent Koscielny, Santiago Carzola, Tomas Rosicky, Bacary Sagna and Lukas Podolski.
On the Arsenal website, England’s young talent Alex Oxlade Chamberlain has spoken of his pride at being part of the first visit to Vietnam by a Premier league club.
“It’s really good and first to go a beautiful country like Vietnam and share with our fans out there is really good for us as well. It’s really a good thing to be part of.” Axlade Chamberlain said.
Arsenal will arrive in Hanoi on July 15 and hold a press conference on the same day. Organisers have also planned meeting between the players, man-ager Wenger and Vietnamese fans.
Arsenal is one of the most successful and long-established football clubs in England. Since its establishment in 1886, it has won 13 Premier League titles.
Vietnam’s coach Hoang Xuan Phuc has also called up his best players for the friendly, including many veterans who helped Vietnam win the Southeast Asia football championships in 2008.-VNA
