Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – ASEAN Community (AC) Vision to 2025 is to maintain the momentum of regional integration, Malaysian Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman said during an interview with his national news agency Bernama on November 19.
According to the official, the vision is set to be signed at the 27th ASEAN Summit, which will take place in Malaysia from November 21-22.
In the next decade, the ten bloc members expect to raise public knowledge on the community and to extend connectivity throughout the region. The AC commits to bringing to its people improved living standards, and ensuring their freedom and human rights.
At the upcoming summit, ASEAN leaders will approve blueprints for the vision implementation based on three pillars – the Political-Security Community, the Economic Community and the Socio-Cultural Community.
The listed documents create the basis, frameworks and orientations for regional connectivity during the ten-year period.
The AC is scheduled to be established by the end of 2015.-VNA
