The Vietnam-Germany Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City has been praised for its contributions to consolidating and developing the friendship, cultural exchange and economic cooperation between the two peoples.
The praise was made by Vice President of the municipal Union of Friendship Organisations Phan Long at a ceremony held on October 25 to celebrate the association’s 20 th founding anniversary.
According to the association’s Vice President Duong Dinh Ba, the association is now a venue for hundreds of members, who once studied or worked in Germany.
Over the past 20 years, the association has cooperated with German partners to organise seminars, exhibitions, exchanges and get-togethers to introduce the image of Germany’s land and people as well as their sentiments towards the city’s people.
It has also received many German delegations and businesses coming to the city to seek investment opportunities.
Speaking highly of the significant achievements gained by the association over the last two decades, German Consul General in the city Hans Dieter Stell affirmed that he will do his utmost to intensify cooperation between the Consulate General and the association, for the interest of the two peoples.
On this occasion, three Vice Presidents of the association were presented with the insignia “For peace and friendship among nations”.-VNA
