Atomic energy and its benefits discussed

The atomic energy sector, the attitude of the society to atomic energy and Ninh Thuan’s future socio-economic developments are being discussed at a forum in central coastal Ninh Thuan province.
Ninh Thuan (VNA) – The atomic energy sector, the attitude of the societyto atomic energy and Ninh Thuan’s future socio-economic developmentsare being discussed at a forum in central coastal Ninh Thuan province.

At the two-day forum that opened on April 13, RussianAmbassador to Vietnam Kovtun Andrei Grigorievich spoke of theimportance of the forum for Vietnam and the State Atomic EnergyCorporation Rosatom of Russia, as well as Vietnam-Russia cooperation inbuilding the first nuclear power plant in Ninh Thuan province.

The forum will help broaden constructive dialogues between Russian andVietnamese partners in ensuring radiation and nuclear safety, he added.

Russia will be totally responsible for thesafety of nuclear power plants inside its territory but also in othernuclear power plant projects in which it is involved, stressed thediplomat.

Director for Rosatom State CorporationProgrammes Boyarkin Sergey Alexandrovich said that the corporation hasbuilt 66 units in 12 countries, confirming that Russia will use thesafest technology in building the Ninh Thuan nuclear power plant 1.

Rosatom experts gave a detailed explanation of the plant’s location in case of quakes and tsunamis.
At the two-day forum, Rosatom will introduce its experiences inbuilding nuclear power plants in Russia and policies to assist personneltraining for Vietnam’s atomic energy sector./.
