Ba Ria-Vung Tau honours over 390 heroic mothers
The authorities of southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province on August 28
presented the title “Vietnamese Heroic Mother” to 393 local women
whose husbands and children laid down their lives for the country’s
independence.

Among those, only 37 people are alive.
According to Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Van Phuong, in recent years, the local authorities have taken practical actions to look after heroic mothers.
The department will work with the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s local chapter to call for donation from organisations and enterprises operating in the province in order to better care for the mothers in the coming time.-VNA
