Bac Giang (VNA) – The northern province of BacGiang’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) grew by 13.45% this year, toppingthe nation.

Accordingly, the province's growth rates of industry-construction,agro-forestry-fishery, and services hit 17.25%, 2.63%, and 6.56%, respectively.

Meanwhile, its industrial index of production (IIP) for the entireyear went up by 20.2%, with the processing and manufacturing industry growingby 20.5%, and the production and distribution sector of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioners up by 5.7%.

As of November 30, Bac Giang attracted 3.2 billion USD of investment, the highest amount ever recorded. Regarding new foreign direct investment (FDI) capital, excluding new sums added to existing projects, it ranked secondnationwide after Quang Ninh province.

Notably, in September, the Korean-funded Hana Micron Vina Co. Ltd. inaugurated its semiconductor manufacturing plant, the firstof its kind in the northern region, at Van Trung industrial park in Viet Yen district. The effective implementation of the project isexpected to lay the foundation for developing a semiconductor manufacturingecosystem in the province and the region. It also presents an opportunity forBac Giang to attract more high-tech projects in the near future.

The Red River Delta province, situated about 50 km to the east of Hanoi capital, has afavourable geographical and economic location. Surrounded by major economichubs, ports, and national highways, it is located at the crossroads of majortrade routes. It lies adjacent to the Hanoi – Hai Phong – Quang Ninh keyeconomic triangle. It is 110 km from Huu Nghi Border Gate with China, 100 km from Hai Phong seaport, and 40 km from Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport. Thelocality has favourable weather conditions and is less affected by naturaldisasters, with stable stratigraphy, fertile land, and beautiful naturallandscapes./.

Industrial production posts strong growth in first two months

According to the National Statistics Office (NSO) under the Ministry of Finance, the index of industrial production (IIP) in February was estimated to decrease 18.4% from the previous month but increase 1% year on year. Overall, in the January–February period, the IIP rose 10.4% compared with the same period last year.

Nghe An steps up reforms to attract FDI

In 2025, the provincial People’s Committee licensed 25 new FDI projects and approved capital adjustments for 20 others, bringing the total newly registered and additional investment to more than 1 billion USD. Many large-scale projects in the Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone have already become operational, contributing to export growth, state budget revenues and job creation.

The enterprises registered combined capital of about 313.7 trillion VND and more than 167,500 employees. Compared with the same period last year, the number of new businesses surged by 70.7%, while registered capital rose by 36.1% and registered labour increased by 19.1%.
