The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu enjoyed an aquatic farming and catching output of nearly 23,000 tonnes in April.
The figure pushed the total result of Bac Lieu in the first four months of this year to 73,000 tonnes, a 3 percent rise over the same period in 2013, helping the province complete nearly 27 percent of its yearly target.
The yielding of 20,300 tonnes of shrimp has been particularly positive, helping solve the shortage of shrimp for export in the locality.
Currently, Bac Lieu has more than 100,000 hectares of shrimp farm and 495 fishing vessels.
The province has also formed 46 logistic teams to support the offshore fishing vessels.-VNA
