Beauty of Mien Doi terraced fields in Hoa Binh province

This year marks the first terraced fields festival in Mien Doi commune, Lac Son district, Hoa Binh province. Scheduled for late October to early November, the festival will feature local cultural experiences and showcase the stunning terraced fields of Mien Doi commune.

Located about 20 km from the center of Lạc Sơn district, Mien Doi commune is surrounded by mountainous terrain.

Coming to the locality, visitors can enjoy a serene mountainous landscape, lush green terraces cascading down hillsides, fresh air, and traditional stilt houses owned by the Muong ethnic group.

Covering over 400 hectares, terraced fields there provide a stable food source for nearly 1,000 residents. Cultivating these fields is much more challenging than farming on the flatlands.

Muong ethnic people have created and cultivated these terraces for generations. Their steep and gentle slopes interspersed with ancient forests and lakes create a picturesque scenery that surely amazes visitors./.
