Belgian delegation works with Ha Nam province

Ha Nam is one of the localities of Vietnam that benefits from the Belgian government’s ODA.

A Belgian-funded drainage system and wastewater treatment project inPhu Ly city is expected to be completed in the second quarter of thisyear.

The provincial People’s Committee Chairman MaiTien Dung expressed the desire that the Belgian government willcontinue providing official development assistance (ODA) capital for theprovince, to support environmental pollution treatment on NhueRiver and wastewater and rubbish treatment in industrial parks andtrade villages.

Benoit Cerexhe said he wasimpressed by the locality’s economic development, adding that themeeting helps the delegation to learn more about projects beingimplemented by Belgian businesses in Ha Nam province.

In the framework of the meeting, the two sides signed a memorandum ofunderstanding on provision of ODA capital worth 10 million EUR for aproject to build and improve sewage pumping stations in Phu Ly city.-VNA
