HCM City (VNA) – Belgian cueist Eddy Merckx won the title at the World Cup3-Cushion 2017 in Ho Chi Minh City on May 28. 

Eddy Merckx (world No. 3) beat the world No 1 Blomdahl Tojornof Sweden at 40 – 32 in the final match.

Six out of 26 Vietnamese players entered the final round,namely 2017 Asian champion Nguyen Quoc Nguyen (world No 12), Tran Quyet Chien,(world No 15), Do Nguyen Trong Hung, Ho Hoang Hung, Ma Minh Cam, and Ma XuanCuong.

The 3-Cushion Carom Billiards World Cup 2017 drew theparticipation of more than 100 players from 16 countries and territories inEurope, South America, Africa and Asia.-VNA

At the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, delegates visited the Doan Mon Gate and learnt about the formation and development of the ancient capital through different historical periods at display spaces.
