French retailer Big C on July 21 succeeded in collecting 12 tonnes of used clothes, equivalent to 40,000 pairs of shirts and trousers, under a charitable programme which aims to support children in need.
These clothes, together with books and school supplies, will be given to poor students in the northern mountainous provinces of Ha Giang and Yen Bai.
The programme also set the world record for the biggest amount of clothes collected within 24 hours”, recognised by Guinness World Records.-VNA
