The central province of Binh Dinh is carrying out a Low Carbon Agricultural Support (LCASP) project, which aims to develop sustainable, effective and environmentally friendly agriculture.

The 1.9-million-USD project will be carried out in Binh Dinh until 2018, focusing on livestock waste management, credits for biogas value chains, technology transfer for low carbon agricultural manufacturing, and project administration.

It also means to mitigate the environmental pollution caused by agricultural waste through the growing use of biogas, creating green energy sources and improving the standard of living for local people.

Of the total investment, more than 1.7 million USD was from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), said Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Thi Thu Ha on October 16.

Binh Dinh boasts an area of over 77,000 ha for agricultural plants and fast-growing industrial crops, including 47,000 ha for rice cultivation .-VNA
