Binh Duong (VNA) – The annual Binh Duong International Women’s Cycling Tournament - Biwase Cup 2018 opened in Thu Dau Mot city in the southern province of Binh Duong on March 8.
The nine-day tournament was co-organised by the Vietnam Cycling and Sport Motors Federation and the Binh Duong Water Supply Sewerage-Environment Co., Ltd (Biwase), attracting over 90 cyclists of 18 domestic and foreign teams from Japan, Thailand, the Republic of Korea, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, the Netherlands, Biwase Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh City, An Giang Plant Protection SJC, Can Tho, Vinh Long, and Dong Thap lottery company.
Cyclists will compete in nine stages, riding 841km through cities and provinces, including Dong Nai, Lam Dong, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Ba Ria – Vung Tau and Binh Duong.
The total cash prizes amount to more than 400 million VND (17,700 USD), including 45 million VND for the yellow jersey winner.
Over the recent years, the organising board has invited many foreign cycling teams to Vietnam to help improve skills of domestic cyclists in preparation for the national cycling tournaments in 2018 and the 30th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 30).-VNA
