Bitexco Tower listed among top 50 most innovative buildings

The Bitexco Financial Tower, a symbol of Ho Chi Minh City, has made the list of the top 50 most innovative buildings of the last 15 years, published by the Council of Tall Buildings, a Chicago-based organisation of architects and designers.

Bitexcowas ranked 32nd , standing side by side with other famous buildingsin the world including Burj Khalipha in Dubai, Taipei 101 inTaiwan, 1 Bligh Street in Sydney, and Marina Bay SandsIntergrated Resort in Siingapore.

Earlier, BitexcoTower was named among the world’s 20 most Iconic Skyscrapers by CNNGo in 2011 before honourably receiving the ‘Excellence in StructureEngineering Awards 2011’ by the National Council of StructureAssociations (NCSEA) of United States .

In 2013, the tower was voted by CNN as one of the world’s 25 great skyscrapers – icons of construction.

Bitexco Financial Tower , owned by Vietnam’s Bitexco Group,is situated in the centre of Ho Chi Minh City . At 263 metres, theskyscraper stands with 68 storeys and three basements.

With its design drawn from Vietnam’s national flower, the lotus, theBitexco Tower embodies dynamism and modernity in the era ofintegration.-VNA

Vietnamese culture promoted in Russia

Remains of Vietnamese fallen soldiers, experts repatriated from Laos

The remains of 12 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts, who laid down their lives in different periods in Laos’ Savannakhet province, were repatriated following a handover ceremony on May 21. They will be re-buried at the Road 9 National Martyrs Cemetery in Vietnam's central province of Quang Tri on May 22.

Nghe An reburies martyrs' remains repatriated from Laos

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Phung Thanh Vinh said that carrying a noble international duty, many Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts heroically joined Lao people in their struggle for national liberation and independence. Many of them sacrificed their lives in the country, including more than 12,000 soldiers laying down in the three provinces of Xaysomboun, Vientiane, and Xiangkhouang.

19 localities eradicate substandard houses

Four more provinces have announced the completion of efforts to eliminate makeshift and dilapidated housing, bringing the total number of localities achieving this milestone to 19 out of 63 nationwide, according to the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs.
