Bangkok (VNA) – At least six member of a ranger patrol were injured when a roadside bomb exploded on the morning of January 10 in Thailand’s southern province of Pattani.

They were on board a pickup truck patrolling a road in Nong Chik district near a school.

Police were investigating the case.

Earlier in May 2017, a double explosion in Muang district – the centre of Pattani – wounded 59 people.

The prolonged religious conflicts since 2004 have provoked daily violence in the Thai southern provinces of Yala, Pattani, Narathiwwat, and Songkhla.

Attacks in the region have killed 6,600 people so far.-VNA
