The Vietnamese market generated 286.4 million USD in turnover for Bosch Group in 2012, accounting for 31.3 percent of the group’s turnover in Southeast Asia, the world leading technology and service supplier announced in Ho Chi Minh City on June 26.
The German firm said its global revenue last year hit 68.3 billion USD, an increase of 1.9 percent, including 16.4 billion USD sales in Asia. Southeast Asian markets generated 912.6 million USD.
Vo Quang Hue, General Director of Bosch Vietnam said Bosch is now the leading European investor in Vietnam, which spans its operation to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Dong Nai.
Vietnam is the second major market of the firm in Southeast Asia and its strategic investment destination, said Hue .
Last year, despite the difficult economic situation, Bosch Vietnam increased its workforce by 36 percent to 1,200.
Hue said in 2013, the group will continue expanding its operations in Vietnam with more products and services. It also plans to recruit 500 more engineers and researchers in Vietnam in the next 3-4 years.-VNA
