Bui Thi Minh Hoai appointed Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee

Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairwoman of its Commission for Mass Mobilisation, has been appointed Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Hanoi (VNA) – Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairwoman of its Commission for Mass Mobilisation, has been appointed Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Politburo member Luong Cuong, who is also Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, handed over the Politburo’s appointment decision to Hoai at a ceremony held by the municipal Party Committee on July 17.

Speaking at the ceremony, Cuong expressed his belief that Hoai will outstandingly fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party and the State, meeting aspirations of the Party organisation, officials, Party members and residents of the capital city.

He also asked local authorities to stay united to well implement political tasks, firstly organising all-level Party congresses, towards the 18th municipal Party Congress and the 14th National Party Congress.

For her part, Hoai pledged to carry forward Hanoi’s achievements and traditions, optimise opportunities, and make efforts to overcome difficulties and challenges to successfully realise the resolutions adopted at the 17th municipal Party Congress and the 13th National Party Congress.

The official called on Hanoi’s Party organisation, agencies, officials, Party members and residents to continue their unity and efforts to build a wealthy, beautiful, civilised and modern capital city as planned.

As a native in Thanh Tan commune, Thanh Liem district, the northern province of Ha Nam, Hoai, 59, holds a master’s degree in law.

Hoai is a member of the Party Central Committee for the 10th (alternate), 11th, 12th and 13th tenures. She was elected to the Political Bureau by the 13th Party Central Committee at its 9th plenum on May 16. Hoai is also a deputy of the 15th National Assembly./.

Vietnam, Laos strengthen cooperation on overseas community affairs

The two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in overseas Vietnamese and overseas Lao affairs for the 2026–2030 period, providing a framework for future collaboration.
