Nine Vietnamese workers were killed and six injured in Laos on December 19 when their bus crashed into a bridge under construction and overturned.
According to the Vietnam Consulate General (VCG) in Pakse, Champassak province, the victims, all from Nam Dan district in central Nghe An province, were working at a construction site in Laos .
The accident occurred in Paksong district, 38 km from Pakse town. It also killed the Lao driver and injured two other Lao passengers.
After receiving the news, the VCG and Pakse division of the overseas Vietnamese Association sent officials to the scene.
The bodies of the victims are expected to be returned to Vietnam on December 20. Meanwhile, the injured are in intensive care.
