The October 24 forum was jointly held by theVietnamese Embassy in Canada, Kisserup International Trade Roots, theauthority of Nova Scotia province and the regional representative office- Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development of Canada, aspart of economic diplomacy activities in 2014.

Nova Scotia’sGovernor Stephen McNeil, Halifax’s Mayor Mike Savage and over 100representatives from Canadian enterprises, businesses’ associations andrelevant agencies were introduced to opportunities to do business inVietnam.

Governor McNeil, Mayor Savage and other speakers spokehighly of Vietnam’s achievements and the good relations between twocountries.

Holding potential in deep seaport, minerals, oil andgas, farm products and seafood, Nova Scotia province wanted to boosttrade and investment ties with Vietnam and also enroll more Vietnamesestudents, they noted.

On the same day, Ambassador Dung and other officials had working sessions with Mayor Savage and Halifax Port Authority.

Mayor Savage said he plans to lead a city business delegation to seekinvestment opportunities in Vietnam in the coming time.-VNA
