Phnom Penh (VNA) – A friendly football tournament between Vietnamese and Cambodianauthorities kicked off in Phnom Penh on August 26.

The event was hostedby the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodiawith the aim of expanding relations with Cambodian ministries and departments.

It has significantmeaning in promoting the good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, andcomprehensive and sustainable cooperation between Vietnamand Cambodia,said Ambassador Vu Quang Minh.

Under-Secretary ofState at the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and InternationalCooperation Sok Soken said the tourney is meant to encourage youngsters totreasure the bilateral friendly neighbourliness, maintain their developmentmomentum and cooperation, as well as enhance cultural and people-to-peopleexchanges./.
