Phnom Penh (VNA) – Cambodia on January 12 announced the postponement of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat scheduled for January 18-19 in Siem Reap in the in-person format.
Talking to the media, the foreign ministry’s spokesperson Koy Kuong said that the reason is that many ASEAN ministers are having difficulties to travel to join the meeting.
Recently, during a talk on Cambodia's 2022 ASEAN Chairmanship organized by the ISEAS–Yusof Ishak Institute, Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn stated that the retreat is the first important ministerial meeting to talk the realisation of decisions and plans that the countries have agreed since 2021, and also an opportunity to discuss new initiatives to promote ASEAN community building./.
