Cambodia will host the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Retreat (AMMR) on January 18-19 in the northern city of Siem Reap, reported the Khmer Times newspaper on January 7.

Phnom Penh (VNA) – Cambodia will host the ASEANForeign Ministers' Retreat (AMMR) on January 18-19 in the northern city of SiemReap, reported the Khmer Times newspaper on January 7.

The event is the first important meeting hosted by Cambodia in2022 as the country is assuming the ASEAN Chairmanship.

At the meeting, the ASEAN Foreign Ministers will share theirviews on resolutions and challenges facing ASEAN this year.

Cambodian Minister of Foreign Affairs Prak Sokhonn told arecent workshop on Cambodia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2022 hosted by the YusofIshak Institute that the retreat will be the first major ministerial meeting todeliberate the realisation of decisions and plans agreed on last year, anda chance to discuss new initiatives that will further advance the building of theASEAN Community./.
