On Mar. 12, Cambodian Defence Minister General Tea Banh visited Vietnam at the invitation of Vietnam ’s Defence Minister General Phung Quang Thanh.
General Banh, who also acts as Deputy Prime Minister, and his accompanying delegation held talks with their Vietnamese counterparts and exchanged their views on regional and international issues of mutual concern. They also reviewed cooperation between the two armies in recent years.
An agreement was made to continue exchanging visits, conducting joint personnel training, cooperating in protecting their shared border and holding joint naval patrols. Also discussed were ongoing operations to search for the remains of Vietnamese martyrs and military specialists, who fell during previous wars in Cambodia .
The Cambodian Defence Minister then visited the central city of Da Nang, the Division 315 in Military Zone 5 and Naval Zone 3 before returning home on Mar. 13.-VNA
