CanTho (VNA) - The Mekong Delta city of Can Tho will host celebrationsto mark the 45th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties and the fourthVietnam-Japan culture and trade exchange programme from November 2-4.
Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Vo Thanh Thong had a meeting withrelevant agencies on August 23 to discuss the organisation of the events.
The organising board said the events will include 17 main activities, includinga Japanese job fair, a conference to promote Vietnam-Japan tourism and trade cooperation,a photo exhibition on Japan’s peace movement supporting Vietnam, andgroundbreaking ceremonies of projects in the Vietnam-Japan Industry Park, amongothers.
The programme is expected to welcome 300-500 delegates, including 200 fromJapanese enterprises which will come to seek investment opportunities in CanTho.
Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Truong Quang Hoai Nam said hehopes these events will help further promote trade cooperation and tourismdevelopment, as well as enhance cultural exchange, contributing to tightening diplomaticties between the two countries.
Municipal authorities will take the occasion to update Japanese businesses on investmentopportunities in Can Tho, and incentives for foreign investors in general andJapanese firms in particular, he noted. –VNA
