The Hanoi Department of Planning and Architecture has unveiled a detailed plan of the National Sports Complex, integrated with shopping, and convention and tourism centres.

About 88.7ha will be zoned off for the complex in Nam Tu Liem district, covering new functional areas of a water sports palace, athletics training zone and a national sport complex headquarters.

Nearly 63,000sq.m of the total land will be dedicated to the Keirin racing facility, expected to be the highlight of the complex, in addition to the National Stadium.

The complex includes less than 25-storey-high buildings, designed in harmony with neighbouring facilities. In addition, a tunnel has been recommended to address the traffic jams after each sporting event.

The tree-covered complex will have a modern architectural design that will ensure adequate conditions to organise the SEA Games and ASIAD.-VNA
