Da Nang (VNA) - The central city of Da Nang will start construction of a first public book park for the community in An Hoa living quarters in Son Tra peninsula in May.
It is the first cafe and open air book reading centre that the city will open for free among the community.
The centre will be built on 1,000sq.m with a total investment of 57,000 USD, of which the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) sponsored 50,000 USD.
It combines a green park for children and creates more space for readers and extra entertainment sites.
The city plans to open a book street for local people and tourists later this year.
Earlier this year, Da Nang also debuted its first reading space, the Green & Brown Bookstore, comprising a library, a bookstore and a coffee shop on Tran Cao Van Street and houses 10,000 books.
Readers can borrow and buy books, and sit down to read with a cup of coffee in a quiet space.
Last year the city opened a new municipal library building on Bach Dang Street.
Da Nang will be the third city in Vietnam to design a book street after HCM City and Hanoi.-VNA
