Central Obstetrics Hospital and its individuals honoured

Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan presented a number of noble distinctions to the Central Obstetrics Hospital (COH) and its individuals in Hanoi on Jan. 26.

The Vice President bestowed the Labour Hero title on COH Director Associate Prof. Nguyen Viet Tien in recognition of his outstanding creativities that contributed to national construction and defence.

Dr Tien has involved in developing the Assisted Reproductive Centre and establishing a at-home reproductive health care centre, two prenatal diagnosis centres and a family planning consultancy centre.

He and his colleagues have successfully applied the intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), cryopreservation (embryo freezing), epididymal sperm aspiration and embryo transfer technologies that helped almost 2,000 babies come into the world.

Doan also awarded the Labour Order and certificates of merits to the Hospital and its individuals for their contributions to people’s healthcare./.
