Ottawa (VNA) – A delegation of the Theoretical Council of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s Central Committee visited Canada from July 22 – 26 to learn from the country’s practices in state organisation and management and social development management in today’s context.
The delegation, led by Vice Chairman Prof. Dr. Ta Ngoc Tan, had working sessions and seminars with officials and academics from Ottawa City Hall, Federation of Canadian Municipalities, Carleton University, University of Ottawa, Canadian Institute of Management, York University and University of Toronto.
The delegation discussed and learn about Canada’s operational mechanism and effectiveness of all-level governmental system; forecasting, collection, management and analysis of information for policy making; enforcement of new social development policies, particularly in terms of housing, employment, education, healthcare, social security and cultural diversity protection.
The two sides also discussed issues regarding the State and Party’s policies in social and cultural development, improving people’s living standards, international integration and development cooperation with other countries.
The Vietnamese delegation later visited the Embassy of Vietnam in Canada to update the staff here with current issues, including the country’s socio-economic development in the first half of 2019.–VNA
