At a reception given to Czech Ambassador Michal Kral, NA Chairman Hung said Vietnam always attaches importance to traditional friendship and all-round cooperation with the Czech Republic and wants to build an equal, comprehensive and long-term partnership with the EU for mutual development.

The Vietnamese National Assembly and people will do their best to preserve and develop traditional relations and mutually beneficial all-round cooperation with the Czech Republic, he said.

The legislative leader spoke highly of Czech Ambassador Michal Kral’s contributions to promoting the relationship between Vietnam and the Czech Republic and between Vietnam and EU countries.

For his part, Czech Ambassador Michal Kral thanked Vietnam’s relevant agencies for their assistance during his term of office.

The Czech Republic is willing to share experiences with the Vietnamese NA in law building and supervision activities, the ambassador said.

He said he hopes the two NA will increase the exchange of high-ranking delegations to further tap the two countries’ potential.

NA Chairman Hung said he is happy at the traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between Vietnam and France at a reception given to outgoing French Ambassador Jean Francois Girault.

The NA leader affirmed Vietnam always considers France as a special partner and a gateway for Vietnam to Europe and Vietnam as a bridge to promote France ’s relations with Southeast Asia .

He said Vietnam and France need to further cooperate in the fields that the two countries have potential such as in economics, trade, investment, education and training, science and technology and culture.

In reply, Ambassador Jean Francois Girault said the Vietnamese-French relations have seen fine development with many projects being implemented, especially in education, infrastructure development, aviation and defence cooperation.

He said he hopes the relationship between the two NAs will be further developed, particularly the exchange of experiences among the two countries’ parliamentarians groups.

At a reception given to French Ambassador Jean Francois Girault the same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung highlighted the French Ambassador’s contributions to promoting the two countries’ cooperation in economics, trade, investment, development aid, education and training.

The PM affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to its cooperative relations with France for the development in each country and for peace, stability and development in the region and the world.

Ambassador Francois Girault said French leaders believe in the fine development of the two countries’ cooperation, especially economics, trade and French-invested projects in Vietnam’s education, transport, energy and other fields.

On the East Sea issue, he underscored France’s stance to back the settlement of disputes in the East Sea through peaceful negotiations on the basis of respecting international law, especially the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.

The French diplomat said France wants to elevate the two countries’ ties to a new height in 2013 on the occasion of the 40 th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties.

At another reception given to Singaporean Ambassador Simon Wong Wie Kuen, NA Chairman Hung emphasised Vietnam always attaches importance to its friendship and special cooperation with Singapore for the two nations’ interest and for peace, stability and development in the region and the world.

He proposed both countries closely coordinate in implementing the signed agreements and elevating the two countries’ relationship to a strategic partnership.

For his part, Ambassador Simon Wong said he is happy that the two countries agreed on principles to promote their relations to strategic partnership.

He suggested both sides further enhance cooperation between the two NAs as it has an important role in bolstering the two countries’ multi-faceted cooperation.-VNA
