According to MSAVLC Managing DirectorPeter Lacy, the concert aimed to raise the awareness of people livingin Coventry about activities in support for poor people, Agent Orangeand war victims in Vietnam .
This was a chance for Coventry's young generation, the future mastersof the city, to understand more about the difficult lives in manyplaces throughout the world, he said.
To raise more money for its activities in Vietnam, the UKnon-governmental organisation also arranged a kiosk showcasing Vietnam’s handicrafts such as embroidered handkerchiefs, table-covers andlacquer paintings, he added.
Minister Counsellor of the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK and NorthIreland Tao Thanh Huong thanked MSAVLC for its support for Vietnamesepeople during their anti-US war in the past as well as the currentnational development.
Since 1975, MSAVLC have assisted several medical, scientific andeducational projects in Vietnam, including the building of theVietnam-UK Friendship Hospital in Ky Anh district in the centralprovince of Ha Tinh./.
