Hanoi (VNA) –
Admiral Tan Sri Ahmad Kamarulzaman, Chief of Navy of Malaysia, is on a working visit in Vietnam to boost naval cooperation between the two countries.

He was received by Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang in Hanoi on June 28.

At the meeting, the Admiral expressed his belief that bilateral naval cooperation will see new steps of development, helping further deepen the defence partnership between Malaysia and Vietnam.

For his part, Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang spoke highly of the naval collaboration between Vietnam and Malaysia over the past time.

The defence partnership has witnessed new developments and reaped practical outcomes, he said.

The regular exchanges between the two countries’ naval ships have significantly contributed to enhancing the bilateral cooperative ties, he added.-VNA
