Vientiane (VNA) - China and Myanmar have vowed to push forward military relations and cooperation in training and the defence industry.
The agreement was reached at a meeting between Chinese Defence Minister Chang Wanquan and his Myanmar counterpart Sein Win in Vientiane, Laos on May 24, on the sidelines of the 10th ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting (ADMM 10).
The Chinese minister said he hopes the two countries will further deepen personnel exchange and training and promote links between the two armies.
The same day, Minister Chang Wanquan also met with his Thai counterpart Prawit Wongsuwan, during which they committed to improving military ties and cooperation in many fields.
Chang hailed cooperation between the two armed forces in recent years, especially in defence and security consultation, joint training and the defence industry.
Meanwhile, Prawit expressed the hope to further personnel exchange and deepen anti-terrorism cooperation between the two armed forces.-VNA
