China’s National Day marked in Vietnam

Duong Quan Ha, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City’s Fatherland Front and President of the municipal Vietnam-China Friendship Organisation and Xu Ming Liang, China’s General Consul in Ho Chi Minh City shared the views at a ceremony held on Sept. 29 to mark the 61 st National Day of China (Oct. 1).

The development could be seen in enhanced mutual trust in politics, better cooperation mechanism, economic and trade relations and other bilateral ties of mutual benefits, they said.

Expanded people-to-people relations and exchanges between the two nations have contributed to increased ties between Ho Chi Minh City and Chinese localities as well as the friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two countries.

During the “Vietnam-China Friendship Year” 2010 to mark the 60 th anniversary of Vietnam-China diplomatic ties, many exchange activities in education, culture, tourism and sports have been held, including the “Vietnam Days” in Beijing and Shanghai and the China-Vietnam Youth Festival in Guangxi.

Also on Sept. 29, a ceremony to celebrate the 60 th anniversary of Vietnam-China diplomatic ties and “Vietnam-China Friendship Year” was held in the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang with the participation of delegates from Baise city, Guangxi province, Wenshan prefecture of Yunnan province and bordering districts with Ha Giang, including Malipo, Maguan and Funing of Yunnan province, China .

According to Secretary of Ha Giang’s Party Committee Hoang Minh Nhat, the mountainous province has seven districts sharing border with several districts of China ’s Yunnan and Guangxi provinces.

Bordering localities often exchange delegations to share experience and tighten friendship, thus promoting trade activities.

Authorities of Ha Giang and Chinese localities agreed to continue to enhance external relations activities and share experiences.

They also called for donations for storm victims in Fujian province.

On this occasion, the Union of Friendship Organisation in southern Kien Giang province handed over 120 million VND as relief aid to the China’s General Consulate in HCM City to support landslide in victims in Gansu province./.
