Hanoi (VNA) – President Tran Dai Quang hosted a reception in Hanoi on February 7 for outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Hong Xiaoyong.
He spoke highly of Hong’s positive and effective contributions to boosting the Vietnam-China friendship and comprehensive cooperation.
Consolidating and developing the bilateral ties in a stable and healthy manner is not only the responsibility but also an objective requirement suitable for the basic and long-term interests of the two countries’ people and for peace, stability and development in the region and the world, Quang said, adding that this is a consistent policy and a strategic selection of Vietnam.
He suggested both sides continue maintaining high-level visits and meetings to intensify political trust, increase the efficiency of existing cooperation mechanisms, pursue satisfactory settlement of disagreements, and maintain peace and stability in the East Sea.
The Vietnamese State leader expressed his hope that in any positions, the ambassador will continue contributing to the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
Ambassador Hong affirmed that the Chinese Party, State and people attach importance to their relations with the Vietnamese counterparts.
China is willing to work with Vietnam to deepen the traditional friendship, expand win-win cooperation, and further boost the bilateral partnership, he added.-VNA
