A Vietnamese woman, who was trafficked into China, has been rescued by Baise City police in the southern Chinese province of Guangxi, the Xinhua News Agency reported.

On May 26, anti-drug officers of Youjiang district in Baise stopped and checked two cars which were running on a highway in Guangxi. A Vietnamese woman on one of the cars cried out for help, saying that she was duped by seven men on the two cars.

The men, including two from Yunnan province, were detained for questioning. They admitted to having agreed to sell the woman to a man in Hunan to be his wife. The traffickers already received money for the woman and were transporting her to the meeting place with the buyer when they were detained.

The traffickers are now in police’s custody while the woman has been sent back to Vietnam safely, according to Xinhua.-VNA
