Hanoi (VNA) – Some 67 circus artists showed off their talent in a national circus contest which wrapped up in Hanoi on December 10.

The national circus talent competition was co-held by the Department of Performing Arts under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Theatre Artist Association, and the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports.  It took place the last time 12 years ago.

After 12 years, circus artists across the country gathered again to compete in this competition, said People’s Artist Luu Van Phuc, head of the jury. The participating artists are at a young age and possess great skills which reflect their hard work and training, he added.

Among 24 performances, three were awarded with the first prizes, including those by the Vietnam Circus Federation, the Vietnam Circus Arts and Vaudeville Secondary School, and the Phuong Nam Arts Theatre.

The organisers also presented nine second prizes as well as the “Best Director” and “Best Coach”, among others.-VNA
