Cold spell envelops northern region

A new cold spell has brought chill weather and light rains to the northern region with temperatures dropping to under 10 degree C across mountainous areas as from February 5, according to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting .

As a consequence of the cold spell, the central region is expected to see rain and choppy sea.

With strong northeastern wind and 2-3m high waves, the central coastal city of Da Nang has banned all ships from sailing and those that are already at sea before the ban need to keep constant contact with relevant local agencies.-VNA
