Conference enhances Vietnam’s cultural industry development

Domestic and international experts are collaborating to find solutions for sustainable development at the international conference on “Roles and Contributions of Associations and Clubs for UNESCO Movement in Cultural Industries.”

Hanoi (VNA) - Domestic and international experts are collaborating to find solutions for sustainable development at the international conference on “Roles and Contributions of Associations and Clubs for UNESCO Movement in Cultural Industries.”

An international conference entitled, “Roles and Contributions of Associations and Clubs for UNESCO Movement in Cultural Industries,” will be held in Quang Ninh on August 5-6. The event aims to identify strategies to foster the growth of creative culture and contribute to economic development.

The conference will attract delegates from numerous countries, along with experts, scholars, and representatives from Vietnam’s cultural, educational, and scientific sectors.

Delegates will share insights and discuss the role of the cultural industry and the creative economy in driving economic growth, creating jobs, and preserving cultural heritage. These industries not only contribute to national GDP but also help maintain and celebrate cultural diversity and creativity.

The conference will also focus on the impact of technology on creativity and the value of cultural products, highlighting challenges such as protecting the rights of artists and creators in the digital age.

Proposed initiatives will address education and training to develop the skills and talents of the next generation, supporting the advancement of cultural industries and creating new job opportunities.

Concluding the conference, member countries are expected to issue a joint statement affirming their commitment to supporting and promoting the cultural industry and the creative economy.

This statement will reflect a consensus on the importance of these industries and outline specific steps to achieve sustainable and inclusive development.

The conference is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Vietnam’s cultural industry, reaffirming the enduring efforts of the VFUA to promote cultural development, facilitate international cooperation, and highlight Vietnam’s role in safeguarding and advancing global cultural values.

Hosted by the VFUA, the conference will run concurrently with the 43rd Executive Board Meeting of WFUCA. Ha Long City in Quang Ninh Province has been chosen as the venue to mark the 30th anniversary of Ha Long Bay’s designation as a World Natural Heritage Site (1994-2024).

During the meeting, member countries will report on, summarize, and evaluate activities from 2023-2024, approve amendments to the WFUCA Charter, elect new leadership for the upcoming term, and discuss preparations for the 43rd General Assembly.

This significant international event provides an opportunity for the VFUA and its partners to showcase Vietnam’s culture, heritage, and people to the global community, further strengthening international friendships toward peace and development./.
