Conference focuses on IC industry

The 3rd solid-state systems Symposium – VLSIs and Semiconductor Related Technologies (4S-2014) and the 17th International Conference on Analog VLSI Circuits (AVIC 2014) opened in Ho Chi Minh City on October 22.

Thethree-day 4S-2014 and AVIC2014 conferences are being organised by theNational University in HCM City's Integrated Circuit Design Research& Education Centre (ICDREC) in coordination with the Institute ofElectrical Engineers of Japan.

"Orientation for Development ofVietnam's IC Industry" and "Research and Education in IC Sector" are thetwo major topics on the agenda at this year's 4S-2014/AVIC14conference.

There will also be discussions about IC designing, devices and IC technology, IC systems, and IC application.

Besides, Japanese delegates will table their research works on IC packaging in Japan.

Accordingto the ICDREC, the 4S/AVIC conferences are held bi-annually to createopportunities for scientists, researchers, and students to compare noteswith experts from all over the world.

This year's conference hascalled on universities and businesses around the country to create anecosystem for the development of semi-conductor-related technologies andfor using of IC industry in the country's industrialisation andmordernisation.

The conferences are being attended by 250officials and experts from Vietnam's Ministry of Science and Technology,the HCM City People's Committee and its departments and agencies, andindustry.

Also in attendance are over 50 leading professorsspecialising in IC design and manufacture from Japan, the US,Switzerland, South Korea, and other countries.-VNA

Bestway International launches 300 million USD plant in Can Tho city
