Conference spotlights Vietnam-Laos education

Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) held a conference on educational cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in the central city of Da Nang on September 7.
Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) held a conference on educational cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in the central city of Da Nang on September 7.

At the event, representatives from the MoET and Laos ’ Ministry of Education and Sports discussed working together to upgrade educational infrastructure and liaise more in scientific studies.

They also evaluated the one year implementation of a project to improve the quality and effectiveness of cooperation between Vietnam and Laos on developing education and human resources over the period 2011-2020.

Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan said the project will improve the quality and effectiveness of human resources training in both countries to meet economic demands.

In the years to come, both ministries will step up cooperation, especially in personnel training and upgrading infrastructure, as well as focus on management training.

Vietnam now receives more than 5,000 officials and students from Laos , while nearly 500 Vietnamese students study in Laos. /.
