Hanoi (VNA) – Laos confirmed additional 14 COVID-19 cases in four out of 18 cities and provinces nationwide in the past 24 hours, raising the total infections to more than 2,000, said its Health Ministry on June 14.
Of new cases, seven were found in the community and the remaining in quarantine facilities.
The country recorded 1,880 recovered cases and three deaths related to the disease.
In Thailand, the virus spread to over 130 factories with more than 7,100 infections in 11 provinces, raising concern over its impact on exports and the whole economy.
The Southeast Asian nation logged a total of 199,264 cases and 1,466 deaths, 80 percent of new cases and 90 percent of new deaths were recorded since April.
Meanwhile, the Cambodian Health Ministry reported 468 new cases on June 13, bringing the total infections to 38,427.
The country has vaccinated about 2.88 million people out of a 10 million population as planned./.
Laos extends COVID-19 lockdown till June 19
The Lao Prime Minister’s Office said on June 4 that the country will extend its COVID-19 lockdown till June 19.
