Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - The Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) Summit 2018 has begun in Thailand with the aim of preventing terrorism worldwide.
During his speech at the opening of the summit in Bangkok, Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Wissanu Krea-ngam said that the global community needs to work together to prevent terrorism financing, money-laundering and technological crimes effectively.
More than 350 people from around the world, representing the public and private sectors, are participating in the summit which is being held at Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers. Mr. Wissanu said Thailand has enacted the Terrorism and Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction Financing Act and the Royal Decree on the Digital Asset Businesses B.E. 2561 to tackle such illegal activities.
He added that, in order to achieve the goals of this year’s summit, innovation, leadership and global cooperation are needed. The Deputy Prime Minister also expressed his belief that the CTF Summit 2018 symbolises an important step towards positive changes in ASEAN and the Asia Pacific region. – NNT/VNA
