Cua Van, a small fishing village located in the northern province of Quang Ninh, has been listed among the world’s most charming little town for recreation by the US online magazine Huffington Post.
The magazine described the village as an exquisite destination with colourful floating houses, magnificent limestone hills and winding streets.
“Sure, we love big, bustling cities. But there’s something to be said for small towns where life moves slower, traditions are everywhere and the people stop to say hello”, the magazine wrote.
It said situated in a calm bay, the village is a tranquil haven for holiday makers who want to experience lives of local people as well as their traditional culture. Cua Van is deemed as the largest fishing village in the Ha Long Bay, a World Cultural Heritage site, with a population of over 700 residents.
Other destinations in the list include Sidi Bou Said (Tunisia), Bled (Slovenia), Napa Valley Franschoek (South Africa), Anneccy (France), Guilin (China), Rein (Norway), Vernazza (Italy), Paros (Greece), Queenstown (New Zealand) and Salvador (Brazil).-VNA
