Granma newspaper, an official organ of the Communist Party of Cuba, has recently run an article highlighting the close relationship between Vietnam and Cuba.

The article cited Ha Thi Khiet, Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) and Head of the CPVCC’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation during her Cuba visit in mid-April, as saying that Vietnam never forgets the solidarity, impartial support and faithfulness of the Cuban Party, State and people for Vietnam during the resistance war against US aggression in the past as well as in the current national construction and defence.

She said at present, the Vietnamese Party, State and people are extensively implementing a campaign to study and follow late President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example in order to educate young generations on the nation’s revolutionary tradition.

Regarding Vietnam ’s achievements in the renewal process, Khiet stressed that the 24-year renewal process initiated and led by the Communist Party of Vietnam has gained great and significant achievements.

Thanks to the renewal, Vietnam has seen a basic and comprehensive change with its strengthened industrialisation and modernisation, high economic growth and people’s improved living standards, she added.

Several other Cuban newspapers spoke highly of the significance of Vietnam ’s Great Victory in Spring 1975.
